Vyacheslav Ganelin’s “The Devil’s Bride” is the first Lithuanian musical. His story was based on Kazys Boruta’s short story “The Mill of Baltaragis” – one of the most famous love stories in 20th century Lithuanian literature. This short story also inspired the creators of the first Lithuanian musical film “Devil’s Bride”, which reached the screens. The music created for this film by the composer and pianist V. Ganelin still sounds on the stage today, without losing the attention of the listeners who grew up with it and conquering the sympathy of the younger generation.
