No one knew what Mr. Zomer’s name was Peter, Paul, Heinrich, or Franc, or perhaps he should have been called Dr. Zomer or Professor Zomer. No one knew whether Mr. Zomer was engaged in anything and whether he had any profession … ”(P. Süskind)
Patrick Süskind was born in 1949. Ambache, in the family of journalist and writer Wilhelm Emanuel Ziuskind. He is one of the most popular German writers and screenwriters these days. The writer became famous for his one-act play “Double Bass”, which was shown in Munich in 1981 and was a great success.
The novel The Story of Mr. Zomer (Die Geschichte von Herrn Sommer) was published in 1991.
