Birutė Mar’s libretto dance performance, based on V. Mykolaitis-Putin’s classic novel “In the Shadow of the Altar”, focuses on the path of human vocation and meaning of life and self-knowledge, the search for human love given in this world as a gift and salvation from God; the opposition of the vocation of the priest-servant of the church and of the Poet. These contradictions of the inner world of man will not be spoken in words, but in the language of the body and heart. Each scene of the play – like the peculiar mass of the life of the main hero priest Liudas Vasaris – will awaken every meaningful episode in a somewhat transformed, memory-like reality.
